Recent research conducted at the University of New Haven has opened the eyes of the medical world to new possibilities of stevia. Stevia leaf liquid extract, extracted with alcohol, has stronger bactericidal properties against the spirochetes of the genus Borrelia than many antibiotics commonly used in the treatment of Lyme disease (e.g., doxycycline, cefoperazone, daptomycin) or even combinations thereof. However, it should be emphasized that we are not yet at the stage where we could prescribe stevia extract for the treatment of Lyme disease in place of antibiotics. The research was conducted (and is still being conducted) under laboratory conditions and must be supported by clinical trials in humans. One of them is currently underway.

However, this does not mean that we cannot include stevia as a dietary supplement or as an adjunct to treatment - especially in patients with Lyme disease. For now, researchers from the University of New Haven are still continuing laboratory research on the effects of liquid extract of stevia leaves on Borrelia spirochetes. Each subsequent stage of the study confirms that stevia has killing properties in relation to the spirochetes of the genus Borrelia. Research supervisor Professor Eva Sapi told the New Haven Register: "So far, we have not seen anything more effective." As mentioned above, this also applies to the currently used antibiotics and their combinations.

Multicenter studies on supporting the treatment of Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases with preparations of plant origin have confirmed the high effectiveness of stevia, especially against Lyme disease. Stevia is active against all morphological forms of Borrelia sp. But it must be liquid (not powdered) stevia obtained by extraction with alcohol and stabilized with glycerol.

In-depth studies have confirmed that in the case of tick-borne diseases, stevia is more effective when taken sublingually.

This is due to the fact that the active substances released from stevia penetrate the oral mucosa directly into the sublingual vessels and the bloodstream. This allows you to avoid the possible impact of digestive juices on the preparation, possible irritating effects of stevia on the gastrointestinal mucosa and the occurrence of the so-called hepatic first-pass effect, which may significantly reduce the effectiveness of some preparations.

The sublingual intake of stevia also guarantees its quick action, almost like when administered intravenously.

In this way, we recommend taking also other preparations considered as basic in supporting the treatment of Lyme disease (and other tick-borne diseases) with natural methods, i.e. spray purges and green propolis drops.

Therefore, we suggest you place the dose of stevia (recommended by your doctor) under the tongue, on the bottom of the mouth, then wait until the amount of saliva produced makes us swallow and then swallow.
